Sarah Rudroff has put a lot of time into thinking what well-th means to her: the luxury of living worry-free, enjoying the people and things most important; it takes planning, determination…and a healthy degree of sacrifice. Sarah is right now putting in the time and effort to build that life of well-th, so she can retire at 50…but she has a lot of different loves so she may never REALLY retire!
Sarah, like many of our HTWASL team, wanted to be a teacher when she was growing up. That aspiration lasted until she moved from private school to public and realized she didn’t actually want to be around kids QUITE that much! (She’s since softened a little, and is eagerly waiting a match in the Saint Louis Big Brothers/Big Sisters program). She thought of the Air Force (and will proudly tell you about her brother serving) but then became fascinated with numbers. She was fortunate to work with a financial advisor early, and loved how he communicated, and taught, and generally left her feeling prepared…she decided to take that path and very much enjoys where she is.
Sarah is an AVID gardener, like many of our HTWASL team! This year yielded a moderately successful crop of tomatoes and cucumbers but next year, she’s got big plans and hopes to be able to make significant contributions to one of the local food banks. Her parents are currently building a house on the farm that has been in their family for over 200 years, so she comes by her love of the soil naturally. She spends many hours at the farm—enjoying nature & the history to be discovered there or training her two very active dogs. She also considers her myriad houseplants a great hobby and we agree—especially since some of us make it an inadvertent hobby to kill houseplants.
Long-term dreams (when she retires at 50)—to find a spot of land to fill with gardens and to host weddings! She’s involved in planning her own now, and is taking note of all the goods and bads so she can eventually offer a beautiful country wedding spot to future couples.
