Jennifer “Jen” Terrell’s journey through life has been marked by resilience and a commitment to growth. She began her academic pursuits at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) with the intention of pursuing a degree. However, her attendance at classes faced its share of challenges, leading her to reevaluate her path.
Recognizing the importance of education and driven by the desire to secure a brighter future, she made a significant decision—to join the Army National Guard. This step not only allowed her to serve her country but also provided the means to support her educational aspirations.
Life had more surprises in store for Jen as she became a parent at the young age of 20. This new role brought immense joy and responsibility into her life. Her initial plan to become a teacher faced a detour due to the financial constraints of student teaching. Adapting to the circumstances, she decided to focus on her son and pursue a degree in child development, which aligned with her passion for nurturing young minds.
When Jen's son was just four years old, she answered the call to duty once more. She was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 4, serving on active duty for a challenging and transformative 18 months. This experience further strengthened her character, instilling discipline, resilience, and a deep sense of patriotism.
Returning from her deployment, Jen resumed her career in the childcare industry, accumulating over two decades of invaluable experience. During the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, she took on the role of a Director at a childcare center. The experience was incredibly rewarding, but the demands and stress of the job led her to contemplate a change.
After dedicating over 20 years to the childcare industry, a friend introduced Jen to an opportunity as a Client Service Administrator in the finance industry. This revelation marked a turning point in her career journey. Embracing change with the same determination that has guided her throughout her life, she stepped into the world of finance. Jen's journey from student struggles to military service, from motherhood to child development, and from childcare to finance has shaped her into a well-rounded and adaptable individual.
Today, she is dedicated to providing thoughtful client service in the finance industry, drawing upon her diverse experiences and the unwavering work ethic instilled in her by her time in the Army National Guard. As Jen embarks on this new chapter, she looks forward to leveraging her diverse experience to make a positive impact and help clients achieve their financial goals. Her life's journey has been one of growth, service, and resilience, and she's excited to see where this path leads next.
